Nobody briefed this one. Someone just watched a reel and asked where it was filmed.
I was approached through my own Instagram — no pitch deck, just a reel someone in Exeter had actually watched.
It became a small commission for Visit Exeter, but it never stopped being what it started as: a Sunday roast, a dog-friendly pub, and a camera that wasn’t trying to sell anything. The only real brief was to keep it exactly that unpolished.
No scripted shots, no lighting rig. I focused on what it actually felt like to spend a Sunday there — inviting anyone watching to imagine themselves at the next table, dog under theirs.
shot handheld, one Sunday sitting —
The reel passed 10,000 views without ever trying to look like an advert — and the team said that was exactly why people believed it. An uptick in Sunday roast bookings later, they asked where the same feeling could be found again.
In their words
“Looked like you really
enjoyed your visit.”“Thanks for the great social content yesterday, and it received lots of likes and views. Looked like you really enjoyed your visit.”
