Born From Saltwater And Real Life
Shaka Studios grew out of a life built between two coastlines.
Georgia grew up in Devon and fell in love with Cornwall's ocean. She moved, put down roots in the surf community there, and built a career rooted in two things she had always trusted: storytelling and the ability to help people communicate what makes them genuinely worth knowing.
Cuan grew up in South Africa, shaped by the water, the surf community, and a family whose connection to the ocean runs four generations deep. His father built a surf school in Port Alfred on the Eastern Cape and named it Shaka. Cuan now runs it with his brother. The name was already part of his life before the studio existed.
In surf culture, the shaka is a hand sign recognised everywhere. A gesture that crosses languages and borders to communicate something simple: positivity, connection, sharing the stoke.
Those values were already at the centre of how we worked. The name just made them visible.
We started Shaka Studios to combine what we each do — photography, film, journalism, marketing, storytelling — in service of one belief: that honest stories, told carefully, create genuine connection.

Photographer · Journalist · Marketer
Georgia grew up in Devon and fell in love with Cornwall's ocean. She moved, put down roots in the surf community there, and built a career rooted in two things she had always trusted: storytelling and the ability to help people communicate what makes them genuinely worth knowing.
She brings journalism, photography and five years of commercial marketing experience — including work connected to globally recognised hospitality brands — to help businesses communicate not only what they do, but why it matters.
Her work is shaped by curiosity, observation and a belief that the strongest stories are discovered rather than manufactured.
